Sections:

Open, U1300, U1000 & U600 Section – 4 Rounds (G/25; d5)

All sections are USCF rated.
Open Section is both USCF & FIDE rated.

Minimum Rating Requirements:

  • Open: Must have a rating of 1200 or higher.
  • U1300: Must have a rating of 900 or higher.
  • U1000: Must have a rating of 500 or higher.

New Players: Will receive an official USCF rating after the tournament.

Rounds:

  • Round 1: 12:00 – 1:10 PM
  • Round 2: 1:10 – 2:20 PM
  • Round 3: 2:20 – 3:30 PM
  • Round 4: 3:30 – 4:40 PM

Each player gets 25 minutes with a 5-second delay before their clock starts.

Open Section – FIDE Rated:

All players in the Open Section must have a FIDE ID.
You can request your own FIDE ID using this form: FIDE ID Request Form
Alternatively, Jake Nemeth (TD) will follow up to assist if needed.
This section is both FIDE and USCF rated.

Swiss Pairings & Player List:

Swiss pairings will be used for all sections.
No check-in required — just make sure your name appears on the player list before Round 1.
If you're not listed, please check in with Jake (TD) before 11:45 AM.

Announcements will be made when new pairings are available both online and in-person.

$20 per player

USCF Membership:

All participants must have a current USCF membership to play.

Prizes:

Cash prizes and trophies for the Top 3 in every section.

Prize Fund Guarantee:
The $500 prize pool is guaranteed with 75 or more paid entries (maximum capacity is 100 players).
If fewer than 75 paid entries are received, the fund will be a $250 guaranteed minimum.

Full $500 Prize Pool (75+ players):

  • Open Section: 1st $140, 2nd $80, 3rd $20
  • U1300 Section: 1st $50, 2nd $30, 3rd $20
  • U1000 Section: 1st $35, 2nd $25, 3rd $20
  • U600 Section: 1st $30, 2nd $20, 3rd $20

$250 Contingency Prize Pool (if fewer than 75 players):

  • Open Section: 1st $75, 2nd $40, 3rd $20
  • U1300 Section: 1st $25, 2nd $15, 3rd $10
  • U1000 Section: 1st $20, 2nd $10, 3rd $5
  • U600 Section: 1st $15, 2nd $10, 3rd $5

This event simulates real tournament conditions to help students gain confidence in competitive play.
It’s also a great chance for rated players to challenge themselves and boost their USCF ratings.

Equipment: Bring your own board and clock. Limited extras may be available.
Notation sheets and pencils will be provided.
