City Championship and Bud Dorsey Memorial Classic

This event will be two separate tournaments. The scholastic tournament will be referred to as the City Championship, and the non-scholastic tournament as the Bud Dorsey Memorial Classic. Entry fee for either is $10. Cap for both tournaments is 50 players TOTAL. You may be turned away on the day of the event if you do not preregister.

Format for both: 3 round Swiss System, G/30 d/5

The City Championship will have 5 sections: Grade 3, Grade 4, Grade 5, Middle School and High School. First and second place in each section receive a trophy. Players allowed to register as a team- 3 players minimum, top 3 scoring players for the team constitute total score. Top 3 teams win a trophy.

The Bud Dorsey Memorial Classic will have 4 sections: U1000, U1600, U2000 and Open. First place in each section wins $25.

Players should bring a tournament-legal set and clock if possible. Lunch, snacks, water, tea and coffee provided.

Registration from 10:00-11:00am. First round at 11:15am. Anyone registering after 11:00am will receive a half-point bye for the first round. One bye request permitted if made before the first round. No last round byes.
