ChessPalace July 16 Blitz

A. Schedule & Location

• Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at 7pm
• First Round: 7:00 pm and consecutive rounds are on a rolling schedule.
• Location: ChessPalace 5246 Lampson Ave. Garden Grove, CA 92845 (click here to map)- Free parking

B. Tournament Format:

• Swiss System format
• 5-6 rounds of double games (5DSS) Players will play TWO games in one round: against the same opponent with alternating colors.
• Time Control: G/5+0 (Game in 5 minutes with no delay or increment.)
• Games will be US Chess blitz rated.
• One Open section
• Maximum one half-point bye allowed

• Entry Fee: $15 advance registration ($30 onsite)
• ChessPalace Member: $0

D. Other Info:

• Award: 1st place finisher: Trophy and a Complimentary entry to the next monthly Blitz tournament
• Players must have an active US Chess Federation membership.
• Players are encouraged to bring their tournament regulation size set and clock. The chess club does have chess sets available to borrow should the need arise.
