ChessPalace April Blitz

A. Schedule & Location

• Tuesday,  April 22 at 7pm
• First Round: 7:00 pm and consecutive rounds are on a rolling schedule.
• Location: ChessPalace 5246 Lampson Ave. Garden Grove, CA 92845 (click here to map)- Free parking

B. Tournament Format

• Swiss System format
• 5 rounds of double games.  Each round, players will play TWO games against the same opponent, alternating colors
• Time Control: G/5+0 (Game in 5 minutes with no delay or increment.)
• Games will be US Chess blitz rated.
• One Open section
• Maximum one half-point bye allowed

• Entry Fee: $15 advance registration ($30 onsite); Free for chess club members
• $5 admin fee for cancellations & refunds.

D. Other Info

• Award: 1st place finisher earns a Trophy and a Complimentary entry to another monthly Blitz tournament at your convenience
• Players must have an active US Chess Federation membership.
• Players are encouraged to bring their tournament-regulation-size set and clock. The chess club has chess sets available to borrow should the need arise.
