Chess Cardinals Thursday OPEN Tournament (G/25)

“Chess Cardinals” is a nonprofit 501c3 approved USCF Affiliate and is hosting USCF-rated SWISS format OPEN chess games at Four Seasons Shopping Center, Missouri, every Thursday between 6:00-8:45 pm (on-site registration between 5:30-5: 55 pm). Adults, kids and all levels of players are welcome.

Time control: G/25; d5 (3 Rounds; USCF dual-rated)

Sections: The tournament has three sections:

• Championship Section: USCF rating >=1000 USCF
• Reserve section: USCF 600-999 USCF.
• Beginner section: USCF Under 600 USCF. 

TD reserves the right to revise section breaks or provide wild cards. Byes are allowed in any round as long as you let us know by at least 1 round in advance. 

Entry fees: $5 per tournament. We accept online payment or credit card on-site. No Cash Transactions. Online registration is highly preferred. https://chesscardinals.square.site. Please enter your complete name and USCF ID when you register. 

Mandatory requirement: Please bring a valid USCF membership ID number for registration. Additional details at http://chesscardinals.com on how to apply online for USCF membership. Our team can help you get a membership on-site too. 

Optional requirement: Notation is optional. Notation books are available for purchase on-site. 

Grand Prix Prizes: Based on all the “Thursday tournaments” in a month, we will tally up points and give trophies to reward improvement in chess skill and encourage participation. For each night’s attendance, you get 3 points for showing up, and for each Win 1 point, each Draw or 1/2-Byes 0.5 point (we will use the USCF cross-table for the event). Regardless of which sections you played, prizes include Top Prize 1st (Champions Trophy). Additional prizes may be awarded depending on the available funds.

Directions:

• Parking: Recommended in front of the UPS STORE or SEOUL TACO.
• Entrance: Ground floor through main big glass doors.
• SIGNS: Look for the Chess Cardinals banner.
• Restrooms: Ground floor near emergency EXIT. Separate for MEN/WOMEN. You would need keys. Please RESTROOM KEYS sign on the wall to locate these keys.
