Event Overview
REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
- Open to K-8 participants (ages 13 and under)
- Players must be rated under 800
- Unrated players who wish to establish a rating are welcome to play.
- Participants must be members of US Chess
- US Chess is the governing body of chess in the US and conducts all of the rating calculations for players. Need a US Chess Membership? Purchase through the CCC and save!
- Participants must be members of the CCC.
- Limited to first 42 players to register.
- Online registration only.
- Registration closes 30 minutes prior to round 1 if not already full.
HOW IT WORKS
- Parents strongly encouraged to drop off.
- Students play one rated game per week.
- Each registration is only for the next round.
- The event is submitted for rating monthly on the final Wednesday of the month.
- Students may choose to get their game analyzed by a CCC coach.

Each player receives 35 minutes plus a 10 second increment to complete the game.
PRIZES
The top player in each section will receive a trophy!

The Charlotte Chess Center’s North Branch is conveniently located off of I-485 and Benfield Road. Opened in September of 2023, the CCC’s North Branch serves North Charlotte, University City, Concord, Kannapolis, Harrisburg, Huntersville, Cornelius, Davidson, Lake Norman, and Mooresville. Regulars visit from both North Carolina and South Carolina.
