Charlotte Chess Center Super Quads

OVERVIEW

A 3 round "quad" US Chess-rated tournament open to all adult players and youth. This Super Quad event features a higher entry fee but also a larger prize fund. Games will be US Chess-rated at classical time control.

In quads, players are placed into groups of 4 by rating. Test your skill against players your level and win big! Up to $120 prize per quad!

Players who register for this event also get free entry into the 2025 Spring Open Blitz event!

REQUIREMENTS

• Participants must be members of the US Chess Federation

ROUND TIMES

Round 1: 10:00am

Round 2: 1:30pm

Round 3: 5:00pm

End Time: Between 7:00pm-8:00pm depending on quad.

HOW IT WORKS

• Players must register in advance.
• Quads - players placed into groups of 4 by their US Chess live rating.
• All quads US Chess rated.
• Limited to first 60 players to register.
• Entries are first registered, first served.​

PRIZES

$110 to the winner of each quad; $120 for perfect 3-0 score

TIME CONTROL

G/80; Increment 10

Each player receives 80 minutes plus a 10 second bonus each move to complete each game

The Charlotte Chess Center’s North Branch is conveniently located off of I-485 and Benfield Road. Opened in September of 2023, the CCC’s North Branch serves North Charlotte, University City, Concord, Kannapolis, Harrisburg, Huntersville, Cornelius, Davidson, Lake Norman, and Mooresville. Regulars visit from both North Carolina and South Carolina.
