Looking for a fun and low-pressure way for your child to play competitive chess? Join us for the Charleston Kids Chess Jamboree—a casual monthly tournament designed for K–12 students of all skill levels!

Whether your child is brand new to tournaments or has prior experience, this event offers a supportive, community-based environment to learn, compete, and make new friends.

This is a casual-format event with a tournament structure—perfect for young players to build confidence, sharpen their skills, and enjoy the game in a relaxed atmosphere. We focus on fun, growth, and good sportsmanship.

• Time Control: G/10;+5
• Sections:
  • Unrated
  • Rated USCF 600+
  • Rated USCF 600-
     

🕒 Event Schedule​

      Check-in: 10:00-10:15 a.m.

• Round 1: 10:25 AM
• Round 2: 11:00 AM
• Round 3: 11:35 AM
• Pizza time: 12:10-12:30 PM
• Round 4: 12:30 PM
• Round 5: 13:05 p.m.
• Awards Ceremony: 13:45 p.m.

🍕 Registration & Prizes

• Fee: $25 per player
  Includes pizza, drinks, and trophies for top 3 in each section.
• First-time players receive a special gift and keepsake to celebrate their first tournament!

Space is limited—please register early to reserve your spot!

🚨 Important Notes

• Advance registration is required. No walk-ins or same-day sign-ups.
• Can’t stay all day? You may request one half-point bye when registering or before Round 1.
• Bring a chess set and clock if you have them.
