Event Overview

The tournament is open to all, including students, faculty, and town residents. Open to beginners and experienced players. Includes a scholastic section for kids with trophies!

Event Details

4 round Swiss, G/30;d5, Regular rated.

Rounds start promptly at 1pm and continue ASAP. Will run until approximately 5:30. Please arrive by 12:45 so as to not be late for your first round.

1/2 point byes available for round 1 or 4, please specify on the registration page or through email before the day of the tournament if needed.

Prize fund is 100$ based on 20 entrants. Prize scales with entries, with a minimum of $50 in prize per section. Prize is given to top placing finisher(s) in each section.

The Scholastic-Novice section will be for players under 18 only, and will have trophies for all participants instead of a prize fund. Players under 18 and under a rating of 1000 can choose to play in the scholastic section. The scholastic section will be in the room next door from the Open.

Adult sections are determined by rating, there are usually either 2 or 3, with an equal number of players in each.

Email is preferred for questions and registration, phone number is preferred if it is the day of or an emergency.

Please bring a clock/board and pieces if you have, I will provide extras for those who need.
