• You must log in or sign up before you can register.
• Online registration closes at 12:00 a.m. the day of the tournament.
• Onsite registration is subject to availability (additional fee incurred).
• Late fees ($15) may be applied a day before tournament or when reaching capacity.

• Signature Quads:
  • Time: 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
  • Time Control: G/25 d5
  • Rounds: 3
• Chess4Less Quads:
  • Time: 12:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
  • Time Control: G/25 d5
  • Rounds: 3
• Signature Swiss:
  • Time: 3:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
  • Time Control: G/25 d5
  • Rounds: 4

Awards

• Signature Events:
  • BA€oins (More Info)
    • 6 BA€oins per point
    • 3 - 18/24 BA€oins per tourney
    • 0 BA€oins Extra-Rated Games
  • A player who withdraws during the tournament is NOT eligible for BA€oins.
• Chess4Less:
  • No awards.

Sections

• Quads:
  • Players will be placed into groups of 4 based on the published USChess rating supplement.
• Swiss:
  • Players will be placed into 3 sections based on the published USChess rating supplement.
  • A player may pay to play up one higher section (300 rating range difference), double play up is NOT allowed .
    (Note: The rating used to determine if a player may play up is their published USChess rating.)

• Signature Quads: $39
• Chess4Less Quads: $29
• Signature Swiss: $49
  • play-up fee: +$11
• Discount for BayAreaChess Basic/Premier Members (More Info)

• Onsite fee: +$19 (membership discounts are not redeemable onsite)

Withdrawals

• Withdrawals are eligible for a partial refund, subject to the following deductions:
  • until Dec. 27, 4% processing fee.
  • from Dec. 28 onward, NO REFUND will be issued.
• Only withdrawals made before or on Dec. 27 are eligible for refund.

Change requests

• After registration, changes can be requested at bayareachess.com/changeform and are subject to the following fees:
  • until Dec. 26, $7 change fee.
  • from Dec. 27 onward, $15 change fee.
• The following requests are exempt from the change fee:
  • playing up to a higher section.
  • requesting byes.

Other requirements

• USCF membership must be active.
