• Onsite registration is subject to availability (additional fee incurred).
• Late fees ($10) may be applied a day before tournament or when reaching capacity.

Awards

• Signature Events:

  • A player who withdraws during the tournament is NOT eligible for BA€oins.
• Chess4Less:
  • No awards.

Sections:

• Quads:
  • Players will be placed into groups of 4 based on the published USChess rating supplement.
• Swiss:
  • Players will be placed into 3 sections based on the published USChess rating supplement.
  • A player may pay to play up one higher section (300 rating range difference), double play up is NOT allowed .
    (Note: The rating used to determine if a player may play up is their published USChess rating.)

Fees

• Signature Quads: $39
• Chess4Less Quads: $29
• Signature Swiss: $49

Late fees

• Late fees, starting:
  • Dec. 31: +$10
• Onsite fee: +$20
• Membership discounts are not redeemable onsite.

Withdrawals

• Withdrawals are eligible for a partial refund, subject to the following deductions:
  • until Jan. 1, 4% processing fee.
  • from Jan. 2 onward, NO REFUND will be issued.
• Only withdrawals made before or on Jan. 1 are eligible for refund.

Change requests

• After registration, changes can be requested at bayareachess.com/changeform and are subject to the following fees:
  • until Dec. 31, 2025, $7 change fee.
  • from Jan. 1, 2026 onward, $15 change fee.
• The following requests are exempt from the change fee:
  • playing up to a higher section.
  • requesting byes.

Other requirements

• USCF membership must be active.
