BayAreaChess Cash Day Swiss G/61 @ Milpitas (Jun 21, 2025)

Compete for cash prizes in our Cash Day Swiss tournaments! Designed for adult and advanced youth players, these USCF-rated events feature four rounds of G/61 d5 games, offering a competitive environment with substantial prize funds.

• You must log in or sign up before you can register.
• Online registration closes at midnight on the day of tournament.
• Onsite registration is subject to availability (additional fee incurred).
• Late fees may be applied a day before tournament or when reaching capacity.

Schedule:

• First round starts at 9:30am (More Info)
• ½-point Byes are available for any round (maximum 2; byes must be requested at least 1 hour before that round's start except last round byes; last round bye must be requested latest before Round 3)
• 0-point Byes are available for any round (player must play at least half the rounds to be eligible for prizes)

Prizes:

• Prize Fund: $1,000 b/32 entries (More Info)
• Regular entry winners get full prize, Econ entry winners get 50% prize.
• Unrated winners: Max $60 (except in the top section)
• If sections are combined, prizes for the sections will be combined and play-up fee for the higher section will be refunded.
• A player who withdraws during the tournament is not eligible for prize money.
• Prizes will be paid out by check (mail), PayPal or Zelle.

Sections:

• Players will be placed into 4 sections based on published USChess rating supplement.
• A player may pay to play up one higher section (300 rating range difference), double play up is not allowed.
• To play in the highest section, players' published USChess rating supplement must within 200 rating range difference.
  (Note: The rating used to determine a player may play up is their published USChess rating.)

Fees:

• Regular entry: $57
• Econ entry: $43
• Play up fee: +$17

• Onsite fee: +$23 (membership discounts are not redeemable onsite)
