Baton Rouge Fall Junior Tournament

The Bluebonnet Chess Club presents the inaugural Baton Rouge Fall Junior Tournament. 

Format:  5-round, Swiss pairing system, non-elimination, rated by the US Chess Federation.

Time Control: Game in 25 minutes with a 5-second delay.

Sections: U400/Unrated, U800, and U1200/Open. Participants are limited to those under 18 years old. If unrated, players may be placed in sections based on online ratings.

Byes: Two half-point byes are available upon request. All byes must be requested before round 3, with exceptions made for emergency situations.

Venue: EBR Bluebonnet Library, Baton Rouge, LA 70810.

Library rules require a parent or guardian to be on the premises for children under 16 for the tournament duration.

Registration: Online until Saturday, October 26th, 2024 at 8:00 am. On-site until the beginning of Round 2.

Check-in is between 9:00 am and 9:20 am.  Round 1 pairings are to be generated promptly after check-in.  Anyone arriving after pairings are made will be given a bye for the first round.

Players are requested to bring their own chess equipment (board, pieces, and clocks) if they have them.  The tournament organizer has very limited equipment available(especially clocks).

Entry fee: $10.

Discount: Show your EBR Library Card at the front desk for a $5 discount the morning of the tournament.
