THE MAKEUP GRAND PRIX SCHOLASTIC CHESS TOURNAMENT
Date: Saturday, April 6, 2024
Format: Four round swiss format, G/25;d5 tournament. Five sections: K-2; K-4; K-6; K-8, K-12
Venue: Ecole Bilingue de la Nouvelle-Orléans. 821 General Pershing St, New Orleans, LA 70117
Prizes: Individual and team trophies in each section
Registration: 8:30AM-9:30AM. Anyone not registered by 9:15AM will be given a first round bye
Round times: 10AM, 11:15AM, 12:30PM, and 1:45PM
Entry fee: $30 if received by April 5. $35 on site.
USCF requirement: Current USCF membership required, join here. If your membership does not have an expiration date, it is not yet current.
Discount codes: Use code FAMILY for a $5 discount when registering multiple siblings of the same family. Use code TITLELUNCH for a $10 discount if student is enrolled in a Title 1 school or receiving free/reduced lunch.

Byes: Two half-point byes available upon request. All byes must be requested before round 3, with exceptions made for emergency situations. All bye requests final after beginning of round 1.
Grand Prix Info: We invite everyone to participate in the Crescent City Chess Scholastic (Youth-Chess) Grand Prix Series. This is a 5 tournament series with dates in November, December, January, February, and March. Every tournament the top 10 players in each division accumulate points. (ex: 1st Place=10pts., 2nd Place=9pts., 3rd Place=8 pts., 4th Place=7 pts., 5th Place= 6 pts., 6th Place= 5pts., 7th Place = 4pts., 8th Place= 3pts., 9th Place= 2pts., and 10th Place = 1pt.) The top 6 players with the highest cumulative scores after all 5 tournaments will have the opportunity to play for the title of Crescent City Champion in each respective division.
