Three-day schedule

Round One: Friday, 7:00 p.m. (G/90, +30)

Two-day schedule

Round one: Saturday, 10 a.m. (G/60,+5) Games in this round will not be FIDE rated.

All players (G/90,+30)

Round two: Saturday, 1:00 p.m.
Round three: Saturday, 6:30 p.m.
Round four: Sunday, 9:30 a.m
Round five: Sunday 2:30 p.m.

The default forfeiture time is 60 minutes.

Please do not drop out of a round or the tournament without first notifying a tournament director!

Byes

One ½-pt bye available Rds. 1-5 if committed before end of round 2. Must play the final round or have a committed bye in order to claim prizes.

Entry Fees

Championship Section (FIDE & USCF rated)

  • $70 if registered by Friday, Sep. 12.
  • $80 if registered by Thursday, Sep. 18.
  • $90 for all entries after Sep. 18.
  • $20 play-up fee for 1700+ rated players (based on USCF September supplement) who wish to play in the Championship section.

 

Reserve & Novice Sections (USCF rated)

  • $60 if registered by Friday, Sep. 12.
  • $70 if registered by Thursday, Sep. 18.
  • $80 for all entries after Sep. 18.

 

Discounts: must register by Friday Sep. 12th.

  • $50 Senior entry (65+).
  • Free entry to Masters with entry fee deducted from prizes.

Re-entry

Have a slow start? Start over with a re-entry! Re-entries from the three-day schedule to the two-day schedule are allowed for $40.

Registration

  • Space is limited. Pre-registration is highly recommended. Register online at      http://www.oklahomachess.org/tournaments/fkb.
  • Please email or call us in advance if you would like to pre-register and plan to pay cash onsite.
  • If there are spots available for onsite registration, it will be from 6:00-6:30 p.m. on Friday for the three-day and 9:00–9:30 a.m. on Saturday for the two-day and re-entry.
  • Refunds incur a $5 fee.
  • Players who enter the Championship section but are not eligible, will not be refunded the price difference.

Materials

  • Bring your own increment-capable clock.
  • Bring your own writing device. We have a limited number.
  • Boards and score sheets are provided.

General Info

  • Children may not be left unattended.
  • Spectators, if allowed, must have electronic devices turned completely off.
  • All sections are US Chess regular rated and require a valid US Chess membership (excluding foreign GM/IM titled players) through September 31, 2025. US Chess rules and the September 2025 supplement ratings will be used for pairings and prizes for all sections.
  • The Reserve and Novice sections will be played according to the US Chess Federation’s rules.
  • The Championship section will be FIDE rated and will be played according to the FIDE’s rules. Foreign players in the Championship section are required to disclose their FIDE ID Number before round one. USA players without a FIDE ID number must disclose their email address and birthdate, and must agree to be assigned a USA FIDE ID.

Devices

Electronic notation devices and personal scorebooks are not allowed in the Championship section. Duplicate score sheets will be provided and are required for play. The signed white copy of the game is the property of the Oklahoma Chess Association. A copy of each game played MUST be submitted to claim any prize.

Electronic notation devices in other sections must be pre-approved by the TD.

In all sections, internet-enabled devices must be turned off completely during play (not just on silent) and must remain in the player’s bag or under their chair. Devices may not be removed from the playing hall during your game. Devices include phones, smartwatches, tablets, etc. These may NOT be on the player’s person. Penalties up to or including loss of game and removal from the tournament for violations of this policy.
