Open Section: 1st $300, top U2000 $100

U1800 Section: 1st $200, top U1600 $100

U1400 Section: 1st $200, top U1200 $100

Format/Schedule:

Time Control:  G/45, d5 (45 minutes per player with a 5 second delay per move)

4 Rounds at 10:00am, 11:45am, Lunch Break, 2:00pm and 4:00pm

Prizes distributed by 6:00pm

Entry:

Early Entry Fee: $35.  $45 effective 10/9
GMs, IMs and SHU students receive free in advance ($10 effective 10/9).

The tournament will take place in the Martire Business and Communications Center "Martire Center" located at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT.  Parking is located directly behind the building along Park Ave or just across the street (use the main campus entrance).  Directions

Notes:

• Official October published USCF ratings used.   
• One 1/2 point bye available for any round.  Must request by 9am on 10/15.  
• All sets and clocks provided!
• Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. 
• In the event of ties prizes will be divided evenly among the winners.  Prizes that are divided may be distributed directly via PayPal. 
• Entry Fee: GMs, IMs and SHU students use code "GM/IM/SHU" at checkout.  Entry fee deducted from prizes.  
• Advanced registration only.  Registrations closes 10/14 at 5:00pm.  
• A variety of lunch options are available on campus.  More details will be provided.  

Current US Chess Federation memberships are required for participation.  Join/renew at uschess.org.  
 

Cancellation Policy:

Notifications received by 8:00pm on the day prior to the event will receive a refund ($5 processing fee).  No refunds for cancellations after 8:00pm.  
 

Photos:

By registering for this event, you give permission for images of you or your child, captured during participation in RedBandit Chess LLC (RBC) programs and events through video, photo and digital camera, to be used solely for the purposes of RBC promotional material and publications, and waive any rights of compensation or ownership thereto.  RBC will never publish photos with names without permission.  Please send a request via email if you prefer no photos of your child to be taken.
