TOURNAMENT INFORMATION

• Format: Four (4) rounds
  • Round 1 begins at 10:00 AM
  • Subsequent rounds occur as soon as possible after each round finishes
• Sections: Five sections
  • K–12
  • K–8
  • K–5
  • K–3
  • Unrated -Anyone between age 4-12 with no USCF rating can play.
  • School Team Champion Trophy 
    Each section will award a School Team 1st Place Trophy.
    To qualify, a school must have at least two players competing in the same section.
    The trophy is awarded to the top-scoring school team in that section.
• Time Control: Game in 30 minutes with a 5-second delay
  • US Chess Regular and Quick rated
• Entry Fees (K–12, K–8, K–5, K–3 sections):
  • $50 by 09/21
  • $55 by 09/28
  • $60 by 10/05
  • $65 by 10/09
  • On-site registration closes one (1) hour before Round 1
• Equipment:
  • Boards and pieces will be provided for all players
  • We don’t have enough clocks for everyone
  • Players who have clocks are welcome to bring them
• US Chess Membership:
  • This tournament is US Chess rated, so an active US Chess membership is required
  • If you don’t have one or are not sure what your ID# is, you can look it up here: US Chess
• Electronics Policy:
  • No electronic scoring devices are allowed
• Parent Supervision:
  • Parents should look after their kids before and after the games

PRIZES

Trophies for 1st through 3rd place in each section.
All participants will receive participation medals.

Additional Prize:

• 1st place in the other sections will each receive one-month free entry into a GMChessPrep.*
  • Admission into some weekday course cannot be guaranteed due to limited seat availability.

Tiebreaks / Ties:

• For cups, trophies, and prizes, ties will be broken using standard US Chess tiebreaks
• In the event of a tie, the free course prize will be determined by tiebreaks
• If multiple players get a perfect score, each of them will receive a free course entry

• The tournament is limited to 66 total players
• No refunds after registration unless tournament is cancelled by organizer. 

VENUE INFORMATION / LOGISTICS

• Parking: The school has free parking. There are spots in front of the school.
• Food / Breaks:
  • There is no scheduled lunch break
  • There is almost always time for players to have food between games
  • There aren’t any scheduled round times — rounds will occur as soon as possible
