Eligibility: Any girl enrolled in an Ohio school, or home schooled in Ohio, in grades K-12 is eligible to participate. All players need to have a current USCF membership. To purchase a membership, visit https://new.uschess.org/join-us-chess.  The March rating supplement will be used. 

This is also a national level scholastic invitational qualifying event.  The top finisher of the championship section will receive a stipend of $300 from OSCA and qualify as Ohio’s delegate for the 2026 KCF All-Girls National Championship in Chicago April 10-12.

Accommodations:  The Ohioan Hotel and Event Center, 100 Green Meadows Dr.  Lewis Center, Ohio 43035.  (614) 880-4300.  Ask for the chess rate of $155.00.  This includes breakfast and is a five minute drive to Glen Oak.  This is a beautiful resort and has been recently updated.  https://www.nwhotelandconferencecenter.com/

Sections and time controls:

Championship (K-12)  5 rounds, G/45; d5.

U1000 Premier (K-12)  5 rounds, G/30; d5.

U600 Reserve (K-12)  5 rounds, G/30; d5.

Sets, clocks and scoresheets provided.  Notation is required in the championship section and strongly recommended in the premier and reserve sections.

Schedule:  Doors open at 8:00.  Announcements will be at 8:45.  No section changes after this time.  Round 1 will begin immediately after announcements.  We will take a 30 minute break for lunch between rounds at a suitable time.

Concessions:  We will offer coffee and doughnuts for breakfast.  We’ll also serve snacks and the Glen Oak Meal (slice of pizza, chips, cookie and drink for $5.00).

Entry fee:  $40.00 by March 7.  $45.00 after this date.  Registration ends on March 14 at 6:00 p.m.  On-site registrations will not be accepted.

Withdrawals and refunds.  Players will get a full refund if requested by Saturday, March 14.

Awards:  Trophies befitting of a state champion will be awarded in the championship section.  Players who score 3 or more points will earn a trophy.  Participation medals will be awarded to those not earning a trophy.  Trophies will be awarded to the top three teams in each section.  A team consists of a minimum of two players per school, per section.  A maximum of the top four players from each school, per section, will count toward team scores.
