2026 Mississippi Individual Scholastic State Championship

A US Chess National Qualifying Chess Event for the Denker Tournament of
High School Champions (9-12), the Barber Tournament of Champions (6-8),
the Rockefeller Tournament of Elementary School State Champions (4-5), and
the GM Maurice Ashley National Tournament of State Champions (K-3).

The Swiss System tournament is divided into 7 Sections:

● Rating limits apply to the Reserve sections: K-1 Reserve - Under 300, 2-3 Reserve - Under
400, 4-5 Reserve - Under 600
● The following sections are 1 day on Saturday only: K-1 Reserve, 2-3 Reserve, K-3
Championship, and 4-5 Reserve.
● The following sections are 2 days on Saturday and Sunday: 4-5 Championship, 6-8
Championship, and 9-12 Championship.

Reserve

4 Rounds no elimination
Games will be played at the time control game in 30 with a 15 second increment added to
the players clock added after each move.
Schedule: 9:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 1:30 PM, 3:15 PM

2-day schedule for 4-5 Championship, 6-8 Championship, 9-12 Championship

5 Rounds no elimination
The first two games will be played at the time control game in 60 with a 30 second
increment to the players clock added after each move. The last three rounds will be played at
the time control game in 90 with a 30 second increment.
Schedule: Saturday: 9:00 AM, 1:00 PM, 4:00 PM, Sunday 9:00 AM, 2:00 PM

Entry Fee: only $25 through Jan 11 before midnight, otherwise $35 no later than Jan 14 before midnight.
