2026 Mississippi Girls Scholastic State Championship

A United States Chess National Qualifying Event for the 2026 Ruth Haring National Girls Tournament of Champions

Check In:  No later than 8:30 AM

Mississippi Residents Only – The Mississippi Girls State Chess Championship is an officially rated US Chess tournament.  US Chess membership is required and student membership is available at uschess.org.

Schedule:  4 Rounds no elimination.  All rounds will be played 45 minutes for each player with 15 seconds added to the player’s clock for each move completed.

Saturday:  9:00 AM, 11:15 AM, 2:00 PM, 4:00 PM

The Swiss System tournament will consist of three sections, Open, Under 800, and Under 400. All players are eligible to play in the Open section. Players with US Chess Federation ratings below 800 and 400 can play in the other sections. The winner of the Open section will qualify for the Haring tournament.  If the first place finisher is not able to play in these tournament(s), the second place finisher (alternate) will be eligible for the tournament(s).

Entry Fee: $25 before midnight February 22, $35 after

Payment accepted on site (Cash or Check) before Check In.

Awards Ceremony to follow last round or tiebreaks.  Plaques or trophies will be given for the top 3 finishers.

One half-point bye only is available and must be requested before the start of the tournament.
