2026 GEORGIA OPEN & AMATEUR Championship

$6000 Prize fund guaranteed and Enhanced Grand Prix 40 points

Five Round Swiss: Three Sections and Prizes Guaranteed – Grand Prix 40 Pts

OPEN (FIDE-rated): Open to all USCF members; GA residents require GCA Membership.  Open Section: $1200-$600; Top 2000 thru 2199, $600; Top 1800 thru 1999, $600; Top Under 1800, $600. Entry Fee: $120 - if received by November 12; $140 after November 12. (W)GMs and (W)IMs Free ($100 deducted from any cash prizes won). 

AMATEUR: Open to USCF-rated Under 1600: $800-$400; Top 1200 thru 1399, $300; Top 1000 thru 1199, $300; Top Under 1000, $300. Trophies and Titles to top Georgia resident in above sections. 

Scholastic Open:  1st to 3rd TROPHIES FOR U1200: U900; U600, 1st Unrated., $50 1st Place, $30 2nd Place, $20 3rd Place in each section, MEDALS to ALL OTHERS (see separate registration link)

Entry Fee:  $120 with GA residents $10 refund at site -- if received by November 10; $140 until November 17, and November 18 until 9 AM November 21 - $160. Both Sections: Players without Official USCF Ratings are eligible for “place” prizes only. (W)GMs and (W)IMs Free ($100 deducted from any cash prizes won). Re-Entry $60.

Scholastic Section is $50 if received by November 10, then $70 until midnight November 17th and November 18 until 9 AM November 21 then $90 registration. Re-entry from Open $50.

Onsite Registration available Friday until 6 PM and Saturday to 9:30 AM.

3-Day Schedule: Reg. ends Fri 6:00pm. Rds. Fri 7:00 pm; Sat 11:00 AM & 5:00 pm; Sun 10:00 am & 2:30 pm.

2-Day Schedule: Reg. ends Sat 10 am. Rds. Sat 11:00 am, 2:00 pm & 5:00 pm; Sun 10:00 am & 2:30 PM. Sat 10:00 am and 2:00 PM rounds are not “FIDE-rated.”

Scholastic Schedule: Reg. ends Sat 10:00 AM, Saturday 11 am, 2 pm, 5 pm, Sunday: 10 am – 1 pm. Time control: G/60; d5. 

Time controls: All Rds. “G/90, d30” except Sat, 11:00 am and 2:00 PM Rds. are “G/60, d5.”

½-Pt. Byes: Available rounds 1 thru 5 (limit two) -- requests required before Round Two. 0-Pt. Byes: Available any round (may request not later than a half hour before next round). Players Must Bring Clocks – Sets and boards supplied by the GCA.
