FORMAT:     2 Sections:

Open section (USCF rated, USCF membership required)

New player section (non-rated section, USCF membership not required, no entry fee)

4 Rounds Swiss Open … G/45, +5 second increment

Membership must be current through November 2025 by the day of the tournament. Membership will NOT be available onsite. Membership is available online at www.uschess.org.  Please bring proof of membership or membership ID number to the tournament.

SCHEDULE: Registration 9:00 am – 9:45 am

Rd 1 @ 10:00 a.m.  Rd 2 @ 1 pm. All other rounds ASAP.

PRIZE $$:     Prize fund is entry dependent

1st = 20%                               (example based on $400 entry fees = $80)

2nd = 15%                              (example based on $400 entry fees = $60)

A, B, C, D/E = 11.25%      (example based on $400 entry fees = $45)

1st Unrated = 10%            (example based on $400 entry fees = $40)

2nd Unrated = 7.5%         (example based on $400 entry fees = $30)

Based on 16 entries. Please note the prize fund is based on entries, both up and down

Prize fund equals 97.5% of entry fees

ENTRY FEE:  Open Section:  $25 for adults, $20 for college students with ID and kids under 18.  Cash on-site

New Player Section:  Free entry. WKU students who wish to play for prize money in the rated (Open) section must pay the entry fee and have a current US Chess membership. Anyone can play in the Unrated Section if they just want the tournament experience.  No entry fee. No prize money.  No rating.

PARKING:    Free parking is available on College Heights Blvd just across State St from Kelly Thompson Hall

NOTES:     Handicap Accessible:  YES

                       FIDE Rated:  No

                       Please bring boards, sets and clocks

                       Entry to Kelly Thompson Hall will be from the State Street side. Look for signs.
