USCF rated, team chess tournament with 4 rounds and $1000 in cash prizes based on 20 team entries.

40 minutes with a 5 second delay

All teams will play in one open section
Prizes are divided by average team rating

Overall 1st Place Team: $400
Overall 2nd Place Team: $200

Entry Fee:
Entry fee $30.00 per player or $90.00 per team if paid by the Early Registration deadline
Fee increases to $40.00 per player or $120.00 per team if registration is not received by the deadline
Payment methods: Cash, Cashapp, Venmo, Zelle
Early Registration deadline: Tuesday, August 12th, 2025 at 11:59pm
No Onsite Registration!
Current August 2025 USCF rating supplement will be used
Tournament Details:
This is a TCA event and all participants must be TCA members
TCA membership can be obtained online
This is a fixed-roster team event and State Championship
Open to players of all ages
Each team consists of 3 players
Teams can include players from different schools, coaches, etc.
Team average rating must be U1800
Pairings conducted by team (Team A vs Team B)
Teams have first, second, and third boards based on rating
Matchups: first board vs first board, second board vs second board, third board vs third board
Average 2025 August USCF ratings used for pairings
NO SUBSTITUTIONS OR BOARD/ROSTER CHANGES BETWEEN ROUNDS

August US Chess ratings and rules will be used for calculating team average rating, pairings, and awarding prizes
US Chess rules apply
No spectators allowed in tournament area
All non-essential communication devices must be powered off completely while inside the playing hall (not just on silent) and must remain in the player's bag or face up on the table. Devices must remain at the board during game play. Penalties up to or including loss of game and removal from the tournament for violations of this policy
Only US Chess approved electronic notation devices are allowed
Notation is required as per US Chess rules
Please bring your own board and clock
Only snacks and drinks allowed at the chess board. All other food must remain outside the playing room
Minors must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Organizers are not responsible for accidents
