2025 Mississippi State Women’s Championship

Open to all states. Only Mississippi residents may win titles/trophies.

Format: 4SS, G45 +15

Entry Fee: $20 by September 1, $25 after Payment accepted on site (Cash or Check) before Check In.

Registrants will be posted at www.mcachess.org.

All chess equipment will be provided. All players are required to take manual notation using scoresheets provided by the tournament director.

Two sections, Open, Reserve. All players are eligible to play in the Open section. Reserve is open to players rated under 600.  One half point bye available for all but last round. Must declare before the start of the 2nd round.

Schedule: Saturday 9:00 AM, 11:15 AM, 2:15 PM, 4:30 PM

Awards Ceremony to follow last round or tiebreaks.  Plaques or trophies will be given for the top 3 finishers in each section.

Tiebreaks: 1st place in each section, if tied, will be determined by two G/10 inc/5 quick games to be played after the end of the last round.  In the event of a tie with three or four players, a single round robin will be played. In the event of a tie from the quick games, tied players will repeat the tiebreak with a G/5 time control until there is a single winner.  Tie breaks for 2nd and 3rd in each section, if necessary, will be determined using the following system(s):  1. Modified Mean 2. Solkoff 3. Cumulative 4. Cumulative Opponent’s Score
