Fremont Chess Festival on National Chess Day 2025

2025 Fremont Scholastic (K-8) Championship, 

the main event of Fremont Chess Festival on National Chess Day 2025 (Oct 11, 2025), is open for registration. The event is completely FREE, made possible by generous sponsorship from Ava Community Energy.  

Time: 9:00am - 2:30pm, Saturday October 11th, 2025

Rating: USCF Dual-Rated. Pairings are based on the October 2025 regular supplemental regular US Chess rating. Players must have current US Chess Federation membership.

Capacity: Registration closes once we hit our maximum capacity of 70! 

Format: Swiss System

Total Rounds: 4

Time Control: G/25;+5 (game in 25 minutes with a 5-second increment with each move. This means you get 25 minutes, your opponent gets 25 minutes, and with each move players get 5 seconds added to their clock.) First round starts at 9am. All players should arrive 10 minutes prior to the first round. Next round starts after the last game finishes in your section (rolling schedule). There is no set break time for lunch, so please plan accordingly.

Sections: K-1, Grade 2-4, Grade 5-8
