2025 Ben Harris Scholastic (Featuring All-Ages Sections!)

2025 Ben Harris Scholastic Tournament

Featuring an all-ages section!

Divided into smaller grade level sections! 

• When: Saturday, October 18, 2025
• Where: Faith Lutheran Church, 2200 S High St, Bloomington, IN 47401. Free parking, WiFi, and places to sit
• Scholastic sections (by grade): PK-1, 2-6, 7-8, 9-12
• All-ages (kids + adults) sections (by USCF rating): Master/expert (2000+), Upper (1500-1999), Lower (1000-1499), Novice (999 and below)
• Scholastic time control: G30 +10, USCF-rated
• All-ages sections time control: G60 +10, USCF-rated
• Rounds: 4SS (four Swiss System rounds), beginning at 9am with subsequent rounds as soon as the previous one finishes. There will be a lunch break around noon. The scholastic sections will end around 5pm. The all-ages sections will end around 9pm. Please arrive no later than 8:45am.
• Pizza: Free pizza will be provided! You won’t go hungry.
• Prizes: BIG TROPHIES to top finishers in scholastic sections (GIFT CARDS for 9-12 section); $500 in prizes in all-ages sections based on 25 paid entries (M/E 85-50-35, Upper/Lower/Novice 55-35-20)
• Scholastic sections entry fee: $1 by July 31, $5 by August 29, $20 by September 30, $40 after that/on-site
• All-ages sections entry fee: $1 by July 31, $10 by September 30, $50 after that/on-site
• Refunds: Full refunds for fees paid after July 31 (i.e. all except the $1 fees) are available until October 10.

• On-site registration: Between 8-8:45am. Participation is not guaranteed if arriving after 8:45am without registering in advance. Call/text if running late!
