• Senior (Must be age 50 or older by 07/27/2024, winner qualifies for Irwin Invitational in Norfolk, VA) USCF Rated, 5 Round Swiss, g/90+10
  • Entry Fee: $40 by 12/13/23, $50 by 1/12/24, $60 on 1/13/24
• Championship (1600+): USCF Rated, 5 Round Swiss, g/90+10
  • Entry Fee: $50 by 12/12/23, $60 by 1/12/24, $70 on 1/13/24
• Under 1800: USCF Rated, 5 Round Swiss, g75+10
  • Entry Fee: $40 by 12/12/23, $50 by 1/12/24, $60 on 1/13/24
• Under 1200: USCF Rated, 5 Round Swiss, g60d5
  • Entry Fee: $30 by 12/12/23, $40 by 1/12/24, $50 on 1/13/24
• Under 600: USCF Rated, 5 Round Swiss, g30d5
  • Entry Fee: $20 by 12/12/23, $30 by 1/12/24, $40 on 1/13/24

 

Prizes:

• Senior: 1st: $250 + Plaque*, 2nd: $150, 3rd: $60
• Championship: 1st: $300, 2nd: $200, U1900: $70
• Under 1800: 1st: $250, 2nd: , $100, U1500: $60
• Under 1200: 1st: $200, 2nd: $100, U900: $50
• Under 600: 1st: $100, 2nd: $50

*In the event of a tie, there will be a g10+2 playoff for the title and Irwin Invitational spot

• Round 1 : 9am

• Round 3 : 5pm

January 14th -

• Round 4 : 9am
• Round 5 : 1pm

 

Under 1200 Section:

January 13th -

• Round 1 - 9am
• Round 2 : 12pm
• Round 3 : 3pm

January 14th -

• Round 4 : 9am
• Round 5 : 12pm

 

Under 600 Section:

January 13th -

• Round 1 - 9am
• Round 2 : 10:30pm
• Round 3 : 1pm
• Round 4 : 2:30pm
• Round 5 : 4pm

 

Special Notes:

200-Point Rule: Must be within 200 points of next section to play up. Players may use the following to qualify. No exceptions:

- current published rating, recent supplement rating, or live rating

Byes: Up to 2 optional half-point byes may be requested BEFORE round 1. All byes requested during the event are zero points.

Unrated players: Unrated players may play in u600 or u1200 sections and are eligible for half the prize amounts awarded. Unrated players are not eligible for class prizes (under prizes).

Spectators: No spectators are allowed in playing areas when the games have begun for the day. A designated spectator area will be available.
