2024 New Mexico Class Championships

Sections:

• 7 sections (Expert/Master, Class A, Class B, Class C, Class D, Class E, Class F & Under)
  • USCF Rated, 4 Round Swiss, All sections except F & Under will be g/60d5, F & Under will be g/30d5
  • Entry Fee: $50 by July 19th, $60 on July 20th on-site

• Class Rating Definitions:

  • Expert/Master - 2000+

  •  Class A - 1800-1999

  •  Class B - 1600-1799

  •  Class C - 1400-1599

  •  Class D - 1200-1399

  •  Class E - 1000-1199

  •  Class F & Under - 0-999

Prizes:

• All sections: 1st place - $150 & plaque. Sections may be combined due to number of entrants, but separate prizes will still be awarded for each class.

Schedule:

Expert/Master, Class A, Class B, Class C, Class D, and Class E

July 20th -

• Round 1: 10am
• Round 2: 12:30am
• Round 3: 3pm
• Round 4: 5:30pm

Class F & Under

July 20th -

• Round 1: 10am
• Round 2: 11:30am
• Round 3: 1:30pm
• Round 4: 3pm

Special Notes:

Byes: Up to 2 optional half-point byes may be requested BEFORE round 1. All byes requested during the event are zero points.

Ties: In the event of a tie for first place, the tied players will play two g/3+2 games until there is a clear winner. Prize money will be split equally regardless of result.

Unrated players: Unrated players may enter Class E or Class F & Under, but are only eligible for half the cash prize and cannot win class title.

Playing Up: Playing up is not allowed in the class championship. However you may use the following to qualify for a higher class on the day of the event:

• Supplemental rating
• Live rating

Spectators: No spectators are allowed in playing areas when the games have begun for the day. A designated spectator area will be available.
