US Chess Junior Grand Prix!

2024 National K-12 Grade Championships
Format: 7SS, G/90 d10. 13 Sections. Play only in your grade section – No “playing up” allowed. December Rating Supplement will be used.
Site: Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center, 201 Waterfront Street, National Harbor MD 20745. Guest rooms can be booked, NLT 11/12/2024, by visiting the tournament website or calling (301) 965-4000, mention “US Chess”. HR: $159 Single/Double (fees and applicable taxes not included).
Byes: Up to two 1/2-point byes available in any round, if requested two hours prior to the start of Rd. 1.
Scoring: Team score = total of top three (minimum two) finishers from each school per grade. First place individual and team, including ties, will be the National Champion for their grade.
Schedule: Opening ceremony Fri. 12:45 PM. Round start times: Fri. 1 PM & 6 PM, Sat. 9 AM, 1:30 PM, & 6 PM, Sun. 9 AM & 2 PM. Awards Ceremony: Sun., approx. 6 PM. Special round times for K-1 sections: Fri. 1:30 PM & 5:30 PM, Sat. 9:30 AM, 1:30 PM, & 5:30 PM, Sun. 9:30 AM & 1:30 PM. K-1 Awards Ceremony: Sun. approx. 5 PM.
EF: $100/participant postmarked or online by 10/21, $150 postmarked or online by 11/11, $225 online by 11/25, $350 online by 11 AM Eastern Thursday, 12/5. $40 fee for roster or section changes after 11/25 or any onsite changes.
Registration: Online registration closes 11 AM Eastern Thursday, 12/5. NO ON-SITE REGISTRATION. Registration by mail must be postmarked no later than 11/11. NO PHONE REGISTRATION.
Awards: Awards to top individuals & top teams in each grade. Every player receives a commemorative medal! Full list of awards on tournament info page.
Side Events: Bughouse: Thurs. 11 AM, Reg. onsite only Thurs. 9-10 AM, $50/team. Bughouse Awards: Top 5 Teams. Blitz: K-6 and K-12, G/3+2, Thurs. 5 PM, Reg. onsite until 4 PM. Blitz EF: $50 by 11/25, $80 after or at site. Blitz Awards: Awards in K-6 and K-12 sections. Full list of awards on tournament info page.
