OVERVIEW
The Charlotte Spring Open is a 5 round classical event with a guaranteed prize fund of $5,000 plus a $500 Saturday evening blitz. There is a registration cap of 110 players - we expect to sell out so please register well in advance. The Open is held alongside the CCC Spring GM/IM Norm Invitational.

GM/IM/WGM/WIMs: Free, no deduction from prize if registered by March 1, otherwise $120 deducted from prize.
ELIGIBILITY

There is a USCF rating minimum of 1000 to enter, based on March US Chess supplement ratings or a live rating thereafter.

This rating minimum applies to all players – adults and kids.

Peak ratings are not considered.

Unrated players and those rated under 1000 should email us to join the waitlist, and may be given a spot if the total attendance does not reach 110 players.

K-8 players rated under 1500 may play the Rated Scholastic - South held on Saturday, March 30. See events schedule for other options this weekend.
The Charlotte Chess Center’s Main/South Location is conveniently located off of I-485 and Pineville-Matthews Road. CCC’s Main/South Branch serves South Charlotte, Ballantyne, Pineville, SouthPark, Matthews, Mint Hill, Waxhaw, Weddington, Steele Creek, Fort Mill, Tega Cay, Rock Hill, and Lake Wylie. Our North Branch is conveniently located off of I-485 and Benfield Road. Opened in September of 2023, the CCC’s North Branch serves North Charlotte, University City, Concord, Kannapolis, Harrisburg, Huntersville, Cornelius, Davidson, Lake Norman, and Mooresville.
