2024 Charlotte Open

OVERVIEW

The 2024 Charlotte Open is a 6 round tournament which features a $20,000 guaranteed prize fund in 10 US Chess-rated sections. Alongside the main events are a free $1,000 blitz and a one-day scholastic K-8 tournament.

 

In addition to the main events and side events, participants may engage with GM Yasser Seirawan who will lead Q&A's, blitz challenges, game analysis, and more! Enjoy your stay at the UNC Charlotte Marriott Hotel & Conference Center on UNC Charlotte's beautiful university campus. Plenty of restaurants and shops in walking distance.

Saturday K-8 Scholastic - 5 Rounds

• 1 Section: Under 600

• Time Control: G/25; increment 5

• Prizes: Trophies to top 10 in each section

• Round Times: 10:30am, 11:30am, 1:00pm, 2:00pm, 3:00pm, Awards at 4:00pm

• Entry Fee: $40 by January 10, $50 after
