This is the third scholastic tournament of the 2024-2025 Dublin Chess Center (DCC) Scholastic Series which will hold 5 monthly scholastic chess events for K-12 student players from August 2024 to January 2025. Players who play at least 4 series tournaments and score at least 10 points (out of 20) will be eligible to participate a free DCC scholastic invitational tournament in February 2025. Overall top 2 finishers and a top girl finisher of such invitational will earn their free entry to a National or State scholastic tournament in Spring 2025. The Invitational tournament details will be announced in February 2025. Students from other states are welcome to participate and eligible for qualifying the DCC invitational.
Chess sets and clocks are provided.

Format: 4 Round Swiss, no elimination, 1 half-point bye allowed if declared before round 1. Games are USCF-rated for K-12 Open, K-12 U900, K-12 U600, K-6 U300 sections which require current US Chess membership. Games are not USCF rated in Nonrated sections which do not require US Chess membership.
Time Control: G45, d5 for K-12 Open section; G30, d5 for other sections. Round 1 starts at 10 am for ALL sections. Lunch break is given between round 1 & round 2. Check out specific section's schedule on site.
Sections: K-12 Open , K-12 U900, K-12 U600, K-6 U300, K-3 Nonrated, 4-8 Nonrated
Awards: Individual trophies for anyone scoring 2.5 out of 4 in each section. Team trophies for top 2 overall best school teams across sections. Medals for all.
Entry Fee: $30 by October 1st, then $40 until October 4th, $50 on site.
