Qualifying for the National Invitationals

The National Invitationals are held each year at the site of the U.S. Open. In 2023, this will be Grand Rapids, Michigan, July 29 - August 1st. These special events that bring together the state champions of 4 different categories (see below) are more than just a tournament of state champions. They are an opportunity for our young players to meet others from around the U.S. and also to bond with the other representatives from their state.

K-5 Qualifier: This event is a qualifier for the National Invitationals. The winner of the 2nd-5th Grade division will earn the right to represent Wyoming at the Rockefeller Tournament of State K-5th Grade Champions. K-1st Graders who choose to compete for this right can "play up" into this division.

6-8th Grade Qualifier: The top finishing 6-8th grader in the 6-12th Grade section will earn the right to represent Wyoming at the Barber Tournament of State Middle School Champions.

9-12th Grade Qualifier: The highest-finishing 9-12th grader in the 6-12th Grade division will earn the right to represent Wyoming at the Denker Tournament of State High School Champions.

Top K-12 Female Qualifier: If the highest-finishing female in the 6-12th Grade division does not win 1st Place in the division (which would qualifier her for the Denker or Barber - depending on her grade), then she qualifies for the Ruth Haring Tournament of State Girl Champions.
