2023 WKU Topper Open

There are 2 Sections:  Open & New Player.  Both sections are 4 Rd Swiss events with a G/45 d5 time control.  The Open is a US Chess rated section.  The New Player Section will NOT be rated, but will be run following US Chess Rules of Chess ... and does NOT require a USCF membership.  A current USCF membership is required for the Open Section

Entry Fees: Open Section: $25 adults.  $15 for those 18 or under or a college student with a valid ID ... student must provide the ID at registration!  There is NO entry fee for students playing in the NEW Player Section.  There is also NO prize fund.  It is a no cost introduction to chess tournament play.

Registration: 9 am - 9:45 am.  Rd 1 @ 10 am ... all other rounds ASAP.  There will be a lunch break between rounds 2 & 3.

Prize fund is based on paid entries.  97.5% of the entry fee will be paid out.  1st: 20% ; 2nd:15% ; A, B, C, D/E each 11.25% ; Unr 1st: 10% Unr 2nd: 7.5%
