Schedule and Format: 5 Round Swiss. G/30; d5 for all rounds. All play 5 games, no elimination. Notation is required in all sections except Elementary Reserve. Unrated players may choose any appropriate section. January rating supplement will be used.

Doors Open: 8:30 AM. Round 1: 10 AM. Subsequent round will start once everyone in the section is finished. Columbus Chess Academy will provide all sets. Students need to bring their own clocks and know how to set them. Sets and clocks will be available for purchase at site.

Sections (All Sections USCF Rated):

Championship (K-12): Includes top rated players from all grade levels

HS/MS Premier* (6-12): Grades 6-12 with ratings below 1000

Elementary Premier* (K-5): Grades K-5 with ratings below 1000

HS/MS Reserve* (6-12): Grades 6-12 with ratings below 500

Elementary Reserve* (K-5): Grades K-5 with ratings below 500

*NOTE: Some schools consider 6th grade Elementary and 5th grade Middle School. Students in these situations may play in up/down a section to stay with their team. Please make a note when registering. This only applies to 5th or 6th grade players.

Entry Fee: $30 by 1/7. $35 by 6 PM, 1/13. $40 by 9:30 AM 1/14. USCF Membership included for all nonrated players, but must request this when registering (we can also renew expired memberships). Financial assistance available for students in financial need; please make a note when registering. Can request up to two-0.5 point byes before start of round 2.

Awards: Trophies to all players achieving a score of 3.5 points or higher. Trophies to top 3 teams in each section (top 4 scores count for team). Participation medals available to all students.
