Event Overview

Open to women who reside in Texas (including school/college students). This is a USCF rated event (for both Regular and Quick ratings). USCF membership is required to participate. 

System of Competition: 6 rounds, Swiss System, 30 minutes per game per player with 5 seconds of delay (G/30; d5). Round 1 starts at 9 am. 

Entry fee: $30 by 3/20, $40 by 3/24, $50 on 3/25. Entries on 3/25 will be permitted up to 30 minutes before the first round. Players not registered by the cutoff time shall be paired from Round 2 only, unless the Chief Tournament Director decides otherwise. 

Awards: Trophies, championship medals, and official TX state championship titles will be awarded to the top three finishers. There will be an additional classification for college players. Trophies, championship medals, and official TX state championship titles will be awarded to the top three finishers of the collegiate classification. 

Additional information: Chess sets, clocks, notations, pencils, and pens will be provided. Accommodation for participants with disabilities will be ensured. Upon timely request, separate rooms in proximity to the playing venue will be available for rent. Free parking.
