Players age 50 and over compete in five rounds (G/60;d5) on March 4-5, 2023 at Home2 Suites by Hilton Euless DFW West.
Highest Scoring Texas player will be named "Texas Senior Champion" and the opportunity and a stipend to represent Texas in the 6th Annual John T. Irwin National Tournament of Senior State Champions.
- Entry fee is:$50 if received by February 19, 2023, otherwise $75.
- US Chess and TCA Memberships Required.
- Rounds: Saturday 10:00 am, 2:00 pm, 6:00 pm; Sunday 9:00 am, 1:00 pm.
- One 1/2 point bye (rounds 1-4 only) allowed if requested before round one.

Eligibility
- All players must have been born on or before July 28, 1973.
- Players are not required to be Texas residents, but only Texas residents are eligible to be named "State Senior Champion" and represent Texas in the National Tournament of Senior State Champions.
- Texas residents must be members of the Texas Chess Association.
- Non-Texas residents must be a member of any US Chess Federation State affiliate organization.
