2023 Roanoke Valley Chess Club Championship!
WHAT:
A 5-Round, USCF- rated chess tournament. This event will decide
the Adult Champion, Runner-Up, and Junior Champion of the Roanoke
Valley Chess Club for one year. US Chess Federation membership is
required. Recording your games is required.
WHEN: Friday, June 16 and Saturday, June 17, 2023.
WHERE:
Westhampton Christian Church, 2515 Grandin Road, Roanoke, VA 24015.
EXTRAS: Plenty of FREE parking, FREE high-speed Internet, with many
great restaurants & hotels nearby. Bring a chess set, board, and clock.
We will have 50-game scorebooks on sale for only $2 each.
PRIZES (based on 16 Entries):
1 st: $200; 2 nd: $125; 3 rd: $75; Top Jr.: $50. Players accrue Grand Prix points.
ENTRY FEES:
$30 for RVCC Members, Juniors, and Advance Entries-- $40 for others.
Please bring your USCF and RVCC membership cards, if applicable.
REGISTRATION: Friday, June 16, from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
ROUNDS: Friday: 4 p.m., 7 p.m.; Saturday: 1p.m., 4 p.m.; 7 p.m.
TIME CONTROLS: Rounds 1-4: G/60 i20; Round 5: G/60 SD.
1/2 Pt. BYES: Limit one for any round except Round 5.
