Sections Notes:
Sections with low turnout may be combined for pairing but will still receive separate prizes.
Unrated players may play in any section except Expert/Master, but are limited to 50% (fifty percent) of prize awarded.
Scholastic section may be further divided by K-5, 6-8, 9-12 based on entry.
Prizes:
Class sections prizes: $150 for first place, $75 for second place in each section.
Top finishing New Mexico resident in each section will be named state champion for their class. Cash prizes are available regardless of residency. Unrated players are eligible for half of prize values.
Scholastic section: first (1st) through third (3rd) place medals for top finishers in grades K-5, 6-8, and 9-12.
Schedule:
Saturday 8/27: 9:00 am, 2:30 pm.
Sunday 8/28: 9:00 am, 2:30 pm.
Up to one half-point bye available if requested prior to 8:30 am on August 27.
Scholastic: Saturday 8/27: 9:30 am, 10:30 am, 11:30 am, 1:30 pm.
Registration
USCF membership is required for all sections.
Online registration is available until 11:00 pm on 8/26/2022 at the following link https://www.kingregistration.com/event/NMClass2022 or at nmchess.org.
On site registration from 8:00 to 8:30 am on Saturday, August 27.
