MINNESOTA INTERNATIONAL CHESS FESTIVAL, August 19-24, 2022

GM and IM norms are possible. GM norm fulfills FIDE requirement that one norm has to be scored in a 6-day event.

$10,000 Guaranteed Prize Fund (provided by the University of Minnesota Chess Club)

Playing Site: Embassy Suites Bloomington (2800 American Blvd West, Bloomington MN 55431; 952-967-8710) Special Chess Rate of $109. Reserve early.

Schedule: FIDE rated 9-round Swiss held over six days (Fri - Wed) with rounds at 7 pm on 8/19, 3 pm on 8/20, 10 am and 4 pm on 8/21-23, 10 am on 8/24

Time Control: G/90 + 30 second increment

Prizes: 1st - 7th = $2,500 - $2,000 - $1,500 - $1,000 - $800 - $700 - $500, Top U2400 FIDE = $500, Top U2200 FIDE = $500.

Entry Fee: GM's, foreign IM's and WGM's free with no prize deduction ($50 deposit required, refunded after round 1), IM's and WGM's $220, FM's $260, FIDE 2100 & higher $290, FIDE U2100 $390; all $40 more after 7/19, $80 more after 8/14.
