2022 Iowa Senior Qualifier

Where: Iowa State University Memorial Union, The Gallery Room, 2229 Lincoln Way, Ames, IA 50011
Must be 50+ years of age to enter. Must be member of Iowa Chess Association and resident of the state of Iowa. Memberships available onsite.
Rounds: 4 Rounds. If less than 8 players TD will reduce that section to 3 rounds.
Round Times: Saturday 9am - 11:30 pm – 2:00pm – 5:00 pm.
Prizes:
1st place $50 + trophy and the right to represent Iowa for the National Senior Chess Champion tournament to be held at the US Open along side the Barber/Denker/Rockefeller/Haring, 2nd place $40 3rd Place $25 Winner will have the right to represent Iowa in the Senior tournament of champions held concurrently with the US Open in Rancho Mirage, CA July 30-Aug 2 2022. Players are encouraged to complete all games in tournament, and submit copies (scoresheets) of all their games played and submit one annotated game to Iowa En Passant .
All Sections One half point bye if requested before round1.
Additional Info: if tournament ends in a tie. A playoff will be played, each player will play both colors, G5 d2 until a winner is determined.
