Chess Club @ ASU Fundraising Tournament
Hello Chess Players! The ASU November fundraising tournament will be happening on Nov 20! All proceeds will go to help send teams that represent ASU to the Pan-American Intercollegiate Chess Team Championship, an international collegiate chess tournament.
Notice: The tournament playing hall is located in the Memorial Union (MU), Room 228, 301 E Orange St., Tempe, AZ 85281.
Due to ASU COVID and MU regulations, we will be capping registrations at 45 people.
Parking is available at Apache Blvd. Parking Structure, E Veterans Way, Tempe, AZ 85281.

The ASU Open aims to create a strong, local chess tournament with an inexpensive entry fee!
Special Notes:
Boards, sets, and notation will be provided. Please bring your own clock.
Rounds and Time Control:
Registration onsite ends at 8:40am
(Players registering after 8:40am will receive a first round bye)
Rounds: 9:00 am - 11:15 am - 2:00 pm - 4:15 pm
Rounds will start promptly at the scheduled time. Please make sure to arrive on time! The default time for this event is 30 minutes.
Time Control: G/55; d5. The games will be dual (regular and quick) rated.
Registration and Entry Fee: $15 online at Online Registration before 6pm Friday, November 19th, $20 onsite.
This tournament does not offer prize money. The goal is to provide an inexpensive opportunity to play rated games against similarly rated players.
Byes: 1/2 point byes are available in any round, if requested prior to round 2 (2 max). Round 1 byes must be requested prior to registration closing.
Sections: 2000 and up; 1700-1999; 1400-1699; 1000-1399; Under 1000. The TD reserves the right to modify sections as necessary.
