Tournament Information

• Four rounds: first round at 10 am, subsequent rounds occur as soon as possible

• Four sections: K-12, K-8, K-5, and K-3

• Time control: Game in 25 minutes with a 5-second delay (USCF regular rated and USCF quick rated)

• Entry fee: $35 by 5/15, $40 by 5/26, $45 by 6/10, $50 on 6/11 (on-site registration closes 30 minutes before round 1)

• Masks are optional

• Boards and pieces will be provided for all players, but we don’t have enough clocks for everyone (those who have clocks are welcome to bring them)

PRIZES

Trophies for 1st through 5th in each section, plus special prizes for the 1st place winner in each section! 1st place in the K-12 receives a $200 Chessable gift card. 1st place in the other sections will each receive two months free entry into a DMV Chess Course.*

*Admission into the Monday course cannot be guaranteed due to limited availability.

Note: For trophies, ties will be broken using standard USCF tiebreakers. Divisible prizes will be split by all members of the scoregroup. For example, if two players tie for 1st place in the K-5 section, each player will receive one free month of a DMV Chess course.

Free Game Analysis by USCF Expert Kevin Stokker

USCF-Expert, coach, and chess author Kevin Stokker will be on-site analyzing games from the tournament and providing free instruction between games!

Venue Information/Logistics

• PARKING: The hotel has free parking. There is both a parking lot and parking deck which attendees can use. Please disregard any signs indicating that a Crowne Plaza parking permit is required.
• The tournament will take place in the junior ballroom. There will be another conference room for parents and siblings to sit in while games are in progress. Free game analysis by USCF Expert Kevin Stokker will take place either right outside the ballroom or in the parents/siblings room.
• Free water will be provided for attendees.
• There is no scheduled lunch break, but there is almost always time for players to have food between games.
