17th annual World Open Under 13 Championship. 6-SS, G/60, d10, Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown (see World Open for location, rates, parking).  Open to all born after 7/1/12. In 3 sections (unrateds allowed any section). Open Section: Plaques to top 5, top 2 each 1500-1699, Under 1500/Unr; free entry in all CCA over the board tournaments 7/18/25-12/31/25 to 1st, 7/18/25-10/31/25 2nd. Under 1400 Section: Plaques to top 5, top 2 each 900-1099, Under 900/Unr, free entry in all CCA over the board tournaments 7/18/25-10/31/25 to 1st, 7/18/25-9/30/25 2nd. Under 700 Section: Plaques to top 5, top 2 each 300-499, Under 300, Unrated; free entry in all CCA over the board tournaments 7/18/25-10/31/25 to 1st, 7/18/25-9/30/25 2nd. Free Entry Prize Restrictions:  Some Continental Chess tournaments have minimum rating requirements for their top sections. Other tournaments charge an extra fee, based on a player’s rating, to play in the top sections. Continental Chess free entry prizes do not cover any such additional surcharges for playing in the top section.  Online Entry Fee: $58 at chessaction.com by 6/28, $70 later or at site. Special USCF dues with magazine if paid with online entry: see chessevents.us. USCF membership required.  Reg. ends 10 am 6/30. Rounds: Mon 6/30 11 am, 2 pm, 5 pm; Tue 7/1 10 am, 1 pm, 4 pm. July official ratings used, unofficial uschess.org or Online Regular USCF ratings usually used if otherwise unrated. Cannot play below Online Regular Rating - 100 points. Limit of 2 half-point byes, must commit before round 2.  No mail entries. $15 service charge for refunds. Entries posted at chessaction.com (click “entry list” after entering). Plaques must be claimed at site. Bring set, board, clock if possible- none supplied.
