G/60 (Over 1000)

If only two players in G/60, ratings must be within 400 points to play two-game match. Minimum four players in Limited/Closed sections. If less than four players, then section will merge with lower section.
If odd # players in Closed section, lowest ranked player will play down in Limited section.
If odd # players in Limited section, a higher-rated player in the Open section will play up into the Limited section to make it even.
If odd # players in the Open section, the lowest ranked player will receive a full-point bye or play a House Player.
Playing up sections is not allowed by request. Tournament Director has full discretion to pairings and moving players into different sections if necessary. Alternatively, designated odd/even House Player (usually a TD rated 1800+) can match against any opponent, any round, in any section. House Player not eligible for prizes. The objective is for all players to have competitive matches all rounds with minimal byes and mismatches with all players competing for their respective prize.
Within all sections, some pairings may be adjusted for competitive matches and greater opportunity for both players to gain rating points, regardless of tournament score.

The most efficient way to gain rating points is Action Chess. Why play a six-hour game when you can play a one-hour game for the same rating points? With modern computer analysis, chess growth happens away from the board, reviewing played games. FOUR COMPLETE GAMES in the same time of one traditional tournament game means FOUR times the learning opportunity and FOUR times the potential rating point gain - all in one evening.
Action Chess is the most competitive and most fun form of standard-rated chess! If you're trying to become an Expert, Master, or scholastic player trying to move up the age lists, Action Chess is your best way to achieve your goals.
