Columbia Grammar and Prep., High School Library, 4 W. 93rd St. (between Central Park West and Columbus Ave., near 96th St. subways), New York, NY 10025. Open to grades 7-12 born after 4/25/07.  7 separate one-day tournaments, each is a 2-SS, G/60, d30 on each date listed: September 27, 2026 (1st Tournament Date); October 11, 2026 (2nd Tournament Date); November 22, 2026 (3rd Tournament Date);  January 24, 2027 (4th Tournament Date); February 21, 2027 (5th Tournament Date); March 14, 2027 (6th Tournament Date); April 25, 2027 (7th Tournament Date). Magnus League Season 12 consists of 2 games on each of these 7 tournament dates (14 games total between Sept. 27 and April 25). Players compete both for cash prizes on each tournament date and also for Magnus League Season 12 cash prizes after all 7 tournament dates!  In 3 sections: 1. Varsity (1800/above at tournament date or within prior 12 months, or players rated 1700+ who also scored 2-0 in a Magnus League J-V or Varsity Season 11 or 12 tournament, and invitees).  2. Junior-Varsity (rated Under 1900 official rating at tournament date and also rated 1300/above within 12 months of tournament date, and invitees). 3. Novice (Under 1400 official rating at tournament date or unrated). All: May be limited to 76 players each date. $800 Single-Day Individual cash prizes each tournament date (paid to top scorers after both rounds on each tournament date): Varsity, $200-100-50, Junior-Varsity, $150-100-50, Novice, $100-50 ($50 prize limit to unr.). Prize amounts may be adjusted up to 2 weeks before each tournament date. $700 Season Twelve Individual Cash Bonus Prizes to the 3 top-scoring players across all 3 sections after all 7 tournaments: $400-$200-$100. School prizes (the 4 top-scores from the same school produce the school team score): Awards to the 4 highest-scoring overall school teams (school team scores with more rounds played, including forfeit wins and full-point byes, may receive extra credit if tied) across all 3 sections after all 7 tournaments. $750 Season Twelve Mixed Doubles Team Cash Bonus Prizes (top-scoring 2-player male+female teams, average team rating Under 2200 at signup, may be in different sections and from different schools) across all 3 sections after all 7 tournaments (register by Feb. 21, no extra fee): $300-$200-$150-$100.  Rounds: 10 am-1:30 pm (possibly earlier start for 2nd game) each tournament date. EF: $60 each date per player if paid by the day before tournament, $70 later, by 9 am each date. Each date’s games submitted for rating prior to next date’s games. Official USCF rating list in effect on each tournament date used for that date (USCF Online Regular Rating used if no OTB Regular; unofficial USCF ratings usually used if otherwise unrated). Cannot play with rating less than USCF Online Regular Rating minus 100 points. TD reserves right to re-pair and issue a forfeit loss to players who do not arrive and do not contact TD by 10:15 am on tournament date.  Prizes not claimed at site may be paid by PayPal (may take a couple of weeks). Limit 6 half-point byes over all 7 tournament dates (2 byes max. Mar. 14 – Apr. 25), commit by 12:30 pm Mar. 14 (12:30 pm is also the deadline to commit to a half-point bye for the second game of a specific tournament date). Current USCF membership required to play on each date. Players must register for each tournament date they want to play. $15 service charge per player for refunds if withdrawing before 9 am on tournament date (or may use full entry fee for credit for future), players providing insufficient notice of withdrawing risk losing by forfeit. $20 fine for players forfeiting their game (the penalty may be increased for forfeiting in future tournaments). Players who forfeit are also not eligible for refunds or credit. Each tournament will also donate $1 per entry to the NYSCA Scholastic Fund.
