U.S. Chess Federation Rated Event  Sponsoring U.S.C.F. Affiliate: The Western Massachusetts Chess Association (WMCA) 

SUNDAY, MAY 7th, 2023  Myrtle Street Park building; 117 Main St., Indian Orchard, 01151  A large parking lot across Main St, can be used.

PRIZE FUND: $500 based on 25 Rated Players. U.S. Chess Federation Membership is required and available at the tournament.

FORMAT: 3 Games Swiss System (No elimination). Time Control G/90; d10  Depending on the turnout, the draw may be split into sections or accelerated pairings may be used. BYES: Limit of one 1/2-point bye, available for any missed round, specified with entry.  CHESS SETS, and CHESS CLOCKS will be provided. However, if you have a set that you would  rather use, you may substitute your equipment for any round with the approval of the player of the  black pieces for that pairing.  ADVANCE REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT OPTIONS: Send REGISTRATION FORM and Check  payable to W.M.C.A by U.S. mail to: ED KOSTREBA, 45 FAIRVIEW ST., PALMER, MA 01069,  postmarked by May 1st. New, and unrated players, $5.  AT SITE ENTRY FEE: Rated players $30 Cash or Check, or $32 via PayPal. Players arriving after 9:00am, will receive a 1/2-pointbye, and paired in round 2. If USCF member, have Id number on  hand.

*USCF Rules 20N & 20N1: ALL players cell phones or any electronic communication devices are forbidden in the playing room  unless they are switched off and no audible disruptive noises from them will be tolerated. Rules 20F & 20I: NO analysis,  discussion of games, or talking, unless quietly making a claim to the director, are permitted in the playing room during play.
