Event Overview

QUAD CHESS TOURNAMENT for USCF & NON-USCF MEMBERS

South Shore Chess Club (FL) is proud to announce it will be Hosting its Monthly QUAD Tournament on 11/05/2022

We have a spacious conference room that can host up to a total of 40 players / 10 QUADS

WE NOW HAVE SECTIONS AVAILABLE FOR THE PUBLIC TO PLAY & COMPETE AND ALSO WIN CASH PRIZES!

PLEASE READ DETAILS BELOW:

WHAT IS A QUAD TOURNAMENT?

A Quad Tournament is where all players are sorted into Groups of four (QUADS).

USCF PLAYERS

The 4 highest rated USCF players will be placed into the 1st Section or top QUAD, then the next 4 highest rated players will be placed into the next QUAD! This process continues until all players are placed into QUADS! Should there be 1, 2, or 3 USCF players remaining after the last QUAD has been assigned, those remaining players will be placed into the

lowest QUAD and that section will play a 3 round SWISS.

NON-USCF PLAYERS

Same process as above will apply for NON-USCF Members. Please note, since NON-USCF Members do not have ratings, ALL NON-USCF players will be placed randomly into groups of 4 until all players are designated a QUAD or Section. Same guidelines will apply as above if there should there be 1, 2, or 3 players remaining after the last QUAD has been assigned.

TOURNAMENT REQUIREMENTS

All USCF players must have a valid USCF membership ID# to participate. If unable to verify, Memberships can be

purchased/renewed onsite***
***Additional Processing Fees May Apply if paying with Credit Card, PayPal, VENMO, or Square.
Golden Rating Supplement from USCF Downloaded each month to help verify memberships

Chess sets provided.
However, please bring Chess Clocks

Open to everyone!
USCF Players are grouped together
NON-USCF Players are grouped separately
Tournament is Limited to a total of 40 People = 10 QUADS

TIME CONTROLS:

3 Rounds of G40; d05

Schedule of Rounds:

Round 1 – Start Approximately 11:00 - 11:30 AM

Round 2 – 01:00 PM

Round 3 – 03:30 PM

PRIZES:

Each Quad receives a $60 1st Place prize
2 Way Tie results with each player receiving $30
3 Way Tie results with each player receiving $20

Tournament Entry Fees:

Early Online Entry Fee $25 /
$30 at the door

Tournament Registration:

***$2.50 Convenience Fee added to all Online & Credit Card Orders

Payment Confirmation, Map and Instructions to Tournament Site will be emailed to registrant after payment is received

Other Information

Concerning Tournament:

Please, No food at the boards,
Covered/Bottled Drinks are allowed

Players can bring snacks +/or food to be eaten outside only!

Bottled water will be provided free of charge, while supplies last!

A variety of concessions will be available $.50 per bag

Please silence Cell phones or turn them off.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

Request for
Non-Perishable Food Donations

The holidays are right around the corner and South Shore Chess Club wants to be a help to families in need. For the remainder of the year, we are asking individuals and families to partner with us and bring non-perishable foods to the Tournament and we will in turn donate all that is given to a local Food Pantry where all the food received will be distributed to families in need within Hillsborough County.

ANY and ALL monetary donations received will go towards a program called “Be a Miracle” program at Reach City Church where Turkeys will be purchased and combined with foods donated, meals will be for families in need so they may enjoy Thanksgiving!
