Columbia Grammar and Prep. High School Cafeteria, 36 W. 93rd St. (bet. Central Park West & Columbus Ave., near 96th St. subways), New York, NY 10025. Open to grades 7-12 born after 4/27/05.  7 separate events, each is a 2-SS, G/60, d30 on each match date listed. 3 sections: 1. Varsity (1800/above at match date or within prior 12 months, or players rated 1700+ who scored 2-0 in a Magnus League J-V Season 9 or 10 match, and invitees).  2. Junior-Varsity (rated Under 1900 official rating at match date and also rated 1300/above within 12 months of match date, and invitees). 3. Novice (Under 1400 official rating at match date or unr.). All: May be limited to 64 players each date (entries may be subject to wait list). $700 Single-Day Individual prizes each match date (paid to top 2 scores after both rounds on each match date): Varsity, $200-100, Junior-Varsity, $150-100, Novice, $100-50 ($50 prize limit to unr.). Prize amounts may be adjusted up to 2 weeks before each match date. $600 Season Ten Individual bonus prizes to the 3 top-scoring players across all 3 sections after all 7 matches: $300-$200-$100. School prizes (the 4 top-scores from the same school produce the school team score): Awards to the 4 highest-scoring overall school team scores (school team scores with more rounds played, including forfeit wins and full-point byes, may receive extra credit if tied) across all 3 sections after all 7 matches. $750 Season Ten Mixed Doubles Team prizes (2-player male/female team, avg. rating Under 2200 at signup, may be in different sections and from different schools; register by 2/9, no extra fee) across all 3 sections after all 7 matches: $300-$200-$150-$100. Additional awards may be updated on website. Rounds: 10 am-1:30 pm (possibly earlier) each match date. EF: $50 each date per player if paid by 5 pm the day before match, $60 later, by 9 am each date. Optional $1,350 team EF per school for up to 8 players for all 7 match dates (no refunds for unused matches). Enter online: www.magnusleague.org (or www.chesscenter.cc). Each date’s games submitted for rating prior to next date’s games. Players must re-confirm before each date; official USCF rating list in effect on each date used for that date (Online Regular Rating used if no OTB Regular; unofficial USCF ratings usually used if otherwise unrated). Cannot play with rating less than Online Regular Rating minus 100 points. TD reserves right to re-pair and issue a forfeit loss to players who do not arrive or contact TD by 10:15 am on match date.  Prizes not claimed at site may be paid by PayPal (may take a couple of weeks). Limit 8 half-point byes over all 7 match dates (2 byes max. Mar. 2 – Apr. 27), commit by Mar. 1 (by Apr. 26 for players with minus scores if team also has minus score). Current USCF membership required to play on each date. All players must confirm participation on our website prior to each match date. $15 service charge per player for refunds if withdrawing before 9 am on match date (or may use full entry fee for credit for future), players providing insufficient notice of withdrawing risk losing by forfeit. $20 fine for forfeits.
