Golden Open:

3 Sections: Championship (2000+), Amateur (1200-1999), Beginner (U1200)

Players may play up in any section with a play up fee

G/90;+30

All sections are USCF Rated, Championship will be FIDE rated

This tournament will be closed to the first 250 players registered

Schedule:

Golden Open: 7 Rounds: 6/7 - 2pm - 7pm, 6/8 - 9am - 2pm - 7pm, 6/9 - 10am - 3pm.

Prizes:

$10,000

Golden Open:

Open: $2000-1200-600, Top U2200- $350

Amateur: $1700-1000-400, Top U1500 - $250

Beginner: $1400-700-400

First place in the Open section will have the option of $2,000 or a 24 carat gold bar worth approximately $2,000 in conversion at the time of the event. This prize cannot be split, so tiebreaks will be used to determine first place in the open section. If 2/3 of the top players in the section agree before round 2 that the prize should be slit, it will be a cash prize.

Registration:

The entry fee will increase $30 for each section after June 3rd for the Golden Open. On site registration will be the same entry fee as the late entry fee. On site registration will be from 12 - 1pm Jun 7th for all sections.

GM’s, WGM’s, and IM’s receive free entry if we are notified before May 18th. If you are a titled player and you miss the deadline, please email us and we may accommodate. Our email is BlakemanChess@gmail.com. All players with conditions have early entry deducted from prizes.

Hotel

Chess rate is $109 a night at the TownePlace Suites Dallas Lewisville. This hotel is a 2 minutes walk from the playing hall.

If hotel rooms are not available just call the hotel and they may accommodate. There are also 5 other hotels next door.

Extra Information

Boards and clocks will be provided.

Up to two half point byes allowed, byes must be selected in online checkout. Zero point byes will be given if a bye is requested during the event.

All payouts will be through paypal. Winners must go through our prize claim form, paypal will deduct a small percentage.

Entry is 100% refundable however, entry is non-refundable within a week of the event unless participant was emailed otherwise beforehand.

Unrateds may win full cash prizes in any section for this event.
